Though some people teach awareness as a path to freedom, it has no connection to liberation at all. Awareness may appear or not, but experienced as reality, it stays within the story of me. Awareness used as a method, may feel very neutral and therefore some kind of pleasant. Yet it is 'me' trying to keep up the illusion of control by not being 'what is', but only be aware of 'what is'. The felt neutrality may be pleasant for some time, because it cools down the intensity of live. Also, this neutrality often is confused with enlightenment or liberation, which gives the apparent seeker an added feeling of doing it right. All of this is a game within the story of separation. Liberation is the falling together of 'me' and 'what seems to be separate'. What remains is wholeness, which is utter aliveness, which is no-thing.
